THE BLOGGER RECOGNITION AWARD

It’s been a long while since I was this active on my blog in terms of interaction with others even though I have posted something here and there. Getting this award right after my return made me feel happy and motivated! A big thank you to alsmangablog for being kind enough to add me on the list. If you already haven’t, please check out their amazing blog!

The rules:

  1. Say thanks to who nominated you and leave a link back to that person’s blog.
  2. Give the story or history of your blog.
  3. Give two or more pieces of advice for new bloggers.
  4. Nominate 10 other bloggers and link their blogs.

The History of My Blog:

It was back in 2014 that I was searching for something related to anime and came across an anime blog. Although I’ve been an avid fan, for some reason it never occured to me to write and publish my opinions on anime/manga before instead of annoying people to no end. I had a dilemma; should I blog in my native language (Turkish) since there aren’t that many and it would be a nice contribution, or should I opt out for English. I had more time and energy, and thought it’d be easy to publish the same content in two languages. I kept at it for a while but learned the hard way that translating is much harder than actually writing in that language. Then, I had to took some time out from here. However, feels nice to be back! My blog was never a place where I had weekly/monthly schedule, I posted whenever I could and I intend to keep it that way.

Advice for New Bloggers:

Considering these awards make many rounds, I’m sure there have been a lot of good advice from people who’ve been more consistent and been longer in the scene. I want to point one thing that I’ve been pondering on: interaction!

I mentioned before that reading is a very private act and have always asked myself whether the author of a book considers their work as “interacting” with outer world. Having such a platform where we can read posts, leave a comment/like and interact with the author directly in a small time frame unlike books, is a gift. This not only helps the community and the author of the post, but it helps the blogger as well. Our thoughts expand upon correspondence and clashes, it feels like a huge loss not to use this power to see and think about things differently. Even if you have nothing new to say, or you feel awkward -like me lol- to respond and just leave a like, it’s one of the greatest motivation to writers.

As for the blogs to nominate, I’m not sure if you’ve done this recently or if you’re up to it but here it goes:

A Wandering Anime Blog
Anime Goodreads
Irina
KS Blogs
Mashi
The Pantless Anime Blogger

Thanks again for the nomination and have a nice day/night out there!
